Just when you thought there were enough iPhone apps, someone comes out with a new one. And the one now waiting for approval from Apple had better get the green light. After all, it is the Swine Flu Tracker-a dynamic program that tracks the spread of Swine Flu.

IntuApps, the creator of the Tracker, displays the current threat level, as defined by the World Health Organization. The numerical threat level warrants a brief explanation, also included on the main "Threat Level" page.
Thanks to Google Maps and an RSS feed, the program displays real-time tracking of the Swine Flu, including a display (marked by pins) of confirmed and suspected cases of the Swine Flu. Each pin on the map contains detailed information on Swine Flu events related to that particular location. These detailed events can include how many are affected, the status of closings or cancellations, the news source for the information, and the date of the announcements.
A key component of the Swine Flu Tracker is the detailed information it provides regarding Swine Flu-symptoms, key facts, and other information from the CDC.
Finally, the App aggregates alerts about Swine Flu from various organizations and websites, including the World Health Organization, and Twitter. This keeps the user well informed as to the latest news about the flu.
This blog contains screenshots and a detailed explanation of the program.
